The petroleum industry has an over 100 years history in Romania. Practically, our country has developed together with the refining industry, Vega refinery, part of the Rompetrol Group being the proof, a facility still working today, after more than 110 years from its foundation. The biggest local refinery is Petromidia, one of the most modern refinery in the Black Sea region, having a processing capacity of more than 5 million tons per year.
“On the occasion of 100 years since the foundation of the modern Romanian state, we would like to thank all our employees for the energy they are investing every day, because we are proud of outstanding results attained by a joint effort. Today we celebrate together with our colleagues and their families, as well as business partners in a concert dedicated to them, here in Navodari, the city that grew up with them and Petromidia, the biggest and most modern refinery in Romania”, told to the people, present at the event, Alexandru Nicolcioiu, Advisor to CEO and one of the oldest Rompetrol Rafinare employees.
He wanted to thank both employees of the KMG International Group, the former Rompetrol Group, and the majority shareholder KMG for engagement and devotion in investing in the oil and gas industry, having a long-term tradition in Romania.
“It is an unique event for the city of Navodari, an event that for sure will happen again and I am glad to see here also our colleagues from Vega refinery, Prahova county”.
