Group History
1974
Rompetrol company was created as a tool for the transfer of local know-how in the petroleum industry to international markets.
1999
The first major acquisition was made: Vega refinery, the longest unit in operation, located in Ploiești, Prahova.
2002
Rompetrol opened the first retail subsidiaries abroad: Rompetrol Moldova and Rompetrol Bulgaria.
