National Company “KazMunayGas” is a leading vertically integrated oil and gas company in Kazakhstan. Founded in 2002, the Company represents the Republic of Kazakhstan’s interests in the national oil and gas industry.
KMG manages assets throughout the entire production cycle, i.e. from exploration and production of hydrocarbons to transportation, refining and provision of maintenance services.
The shareholders of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” are Joint-Stock Company “Sovereign Wealth Fund “Samruk Kazyna” (90.42%) and National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan (9.58%).
The strategic acquisition of The Rompetrol Group in 2007 provided KazMunayGas with a footprint into important downstream markets in Europe, as well as the ability to use the Group as a platform for future international expansion.
