Ilyas Kuldzhanov

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kuldzhanov is responsible for the strategic leadership and performance of the Group, globally, as a sustainable company focused on energy solutions considering the current market challenges.

His expertise, built over a decade in oil and gas industry, was gathered on various management positions in the Kazakhstan National Welfare Fund - Samruk-Kazyna, KazMunayGas, Petroleum Operating, and Citigroup. During 2013 and 2014, he was the Advisor of the General Manager of KMG International, being familiar both with the activities and operations of the Group, but also with the particularities of the industry in Romania and in the region.

Ilyas Kuldzhanov graduated from the Omsk State University majoring in International Economics, Moscow State University for International Relations majoring in International Economic Relations, Kazakhstan-British Technical University - majoring in Petroleum Engineering and he is currently studying for a Ph.D. degree in the same field at the Nazarbayev University, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

Baurzhan Nurgaliyev

Chief Operations Officer (Interim)

Mr. Nurgaliyev is responsible for the development of strategic initiatives, providing expertise and leadership in their implementation, in accordance with best practices and relevant regulations.

Mr. Nurgaliyev has accumulated over 20 years of professional experience in management, negotiation and jurisprudence.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in General Construction and also a degree in Jurisprudence.

Before joining the KMG International Group, Mr. Nurgaliyev held various managerial positions, including NWF Samruk – Kazyna, Samruk – Kazyna Contract LLP, as well as other multinational companies in Kazakhstan.

Pavel Romanenko

Chief Officer of Production and Industrial Services (Interim).

In this role, Mr. Romanenko will be accountable for defining and executing the strategy and ensuring the operational excellence of our production and industrial services unit, following KMG International's strategy and values.

He will also be responsible for monitoring and improving the business performance in order to fulfill the business objectives and achieve the estimated operational and financial performance.

Pavel has an extensive professional background in the oil and gas industry, with more than 17 years of experience in various technical and managerial positions.

He holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Kazakh-British Technical University and a Bachelor’s degree from Tomsk Polytechnic University in Russia.

He joined KMG International in 2023 as Reporting and Optimization Director for KMG Rompetrol and later became Deputy General Manager and Operations Director for Rompetrol Rafinare.

Bauyrzhan Nugumanov

Chief Marketing & Retail Officer (Interim)

Mr. Nugumanov is responsible for defining and implementing the business strategy in the retail and marketing unit in line with the KMG International strategy, aiming to achieve the established business objectives.

With a professional experience of almost 15 years, he joined the company in 2022 as Retail Director. Soon after, he was appointed General Manager of Rompetrol Downstream, maintaining this position besides the current responsibilities.

Previously, he held management roles in multinational companies with expertise in the oil and gas industry, and leaders in the oil products market in Kazakhstan and Romania.

Mr. Nugumanov has graduated from the Economic University of Kazakhstan, Faculty of Finance-Credit, as well as the London Guildhall University, holding a Master's degree in Banking and International Finance.
