The Kazakh violinist Arman Mourzagaliyev, together with the Orchestra of Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation, gave an extraordinary performance under conductor Gabriel Bebeşelea, on Saturday, December 5, on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum.
The concert was organized by KMG International, in partnership with Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation and with support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Romania, as part of the company’s initiative to support young talents on the Romanian cultural scene and promote the cultural exchange between Romania and Kazakhstan.
“Culture is of tremendous importance as it connects people and strengthens the relations among nations. It is our mission to equally promote the authentic values of Kazakhstan and Romania and to create opportunities for cultural exchanges, as this concert.” H.E. Daulet Batrashev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania.
„KMG International, under the brand Rompetrol, supports culture in all its forms of artistic manifestation. His recent and upcoming projects include close collaboration with Leon Kirschner, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, Paul Schoenfield, Sandor Szokolay, Joseph Silverstein as well as performances of a number of pieces by notable 20th century composers including works by Robert Russell-Bennett, Paul Schoenfield, Alberto Ginastera, Alfred Schnittke, Aaron Copland, Arvo Part, Lazslo Tihanyi, Claude Bolling, Astor Piazzolla, Jacob do Bandolim, Georgas Pelecis, Giya Kancheli.
„It gave me immense joy and honor to walk on the stage of the famous Romanian Athenaeum and embrace music with my fellow musicians from Romania, a country that is legendary for its profound musical heritage, cultivated traditions, brilliant composers and performers. By any criteria, it was quite eventful”, stated violinist Arman Mourzagaliyev.
The repertoire of the concert consisted of the Overture to "The Marriage of Figaro" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D minor by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, and excerpts from Carmen Suites No. 1 and No. 2 for orchestra by Georges Bizet.
