KMG International and Rompetrol celebrate the National Day of Romania through a series of actions promoting the Romanian national values endorsed by the Group’s actions developed in the oil industry.

„KMG International is a promotor of the genuine Romanian values both through its expertise acquired in the oil industry and through its added value products offered to the clients in Romania, under the Rompetrol brand. By developing its main operational services, of refining, marine transportation of oil products, and of fuel distribution, KMG International represents a genuine growth driver for Romania, regardless if we refer to its employees’ activity, or to their know-how transferred abroad, or to the major economic and social impact our operations have. On the occasion of the National Day of Romania, we mark once again the success of our Romanian – Kazakh partnership by successfully promoting international and national values” said the Prime Vice President of KMG International, Catalin Dumitru.

The office buildings of the two refineries held by KMG International, Petromidia – the largest and the most modern facility in the country – and Vega –the longest working unit of its kind in Romania – were decorated with the Romanian flag. The three colour flag of Romania was anchored on a surface of 60m length and 16m width on the main office building of Rompetrol Rafinare in Navodari, which operates the two refineries. In addition, the national flag covers a surface of 14m in length and 6m in width of the office building surface of the Vega Refinery (see photo).

The clients who will stop at the Rompetrol gas stations on December 1st will receive stick flags of the Romanian flag which can be anchored on cars. Over 22,000 of such products will be distributed in the main gas stations throughout the country.

Moreover, on the National Day of Romania, Rompetrol clients will be able to attend a special event organized by Hei in the Rompetrol Sibiu gas station on Gen. Vasile Milea Street, a unique food experience, along with Printesa Polonic. Organised in partnership with the Povestasii Association, Rompetrol brings the workshop “Stra-bucate” in the Rompetrol station, as well as its stories regarding the special recipes of sandwiches and traditional Romanian dessert, made by Printesa Polonic.

On the occasion of celebrating the National Day of Romania, the company promotes the video project “Made in Romania”. Through its production units, KMG International is the largest oil refining company of the country, Petromidia has a capacity of over 5 million tonnes per year, is the only producer of bitumen and n-hexan through its Vega refinery operations but is also the only producer of polymers through its petro-chemical division and of industrial taps through its Rominserv Valves Iaifo Zalau.

At the same time, KMG International, in partnership with The National Press Agency Agerpress, runs the editorial project entitled “160 years of refining oil”, between November 22nd and December 16th. Over 160 years ago, the Rafov refinery near Ploiesti, the first refinery in the world, was processing oil for the first time. Throughout the period of the project, media materials and documentaries will be showcased, which will cover among other things the history of the refining sector in Romania, the oil companies’ strategies in the refining sector or environmental issues.
