100 high-achievers university and high-school students from Bucharest, Constanta and Prahova have been selected as winners of the KMG International Scholarships program, now at its second edition, receiving annual grants amounting to USD 100,000.

The scholarship program has been introduced to offer financial support to high school and university students with excellent results who want to develop their career in the energy sector. 50 scholarships have been awarded to students from the company’s internship program, upon the evaluation of their performance.  The remaining 50 were awarded to high school and university students with high academic achievements, determined to build a career in the energy sector, who applied to our scholarships call. Their areas of study include: chemistry, mechanical engineering, petroleum and gas engineering, studying at universities such as Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti, Ovidius University Constanta, Politehnica University of Bucharest, University of Bucharest and high-schools from Constanta, Bucuresti and Ploiesti.

The applications were evaluated by a jury comprised of KMG International representatives and two university professors: Prof. Daniela Popovici from the Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti and Prof. Anca Sterpu from Ovidius University Constanta, Faculty of Physics, Chemistry, Electronics and Petroleum Technology.

KMG International has been actively involved in the development of skills and competencies for students, having carried out internship programs for 18 years, for over 1,300 high school and university students from all our operational areas in Romania. Starting with 2018, we have extended the addressability of our programs, by including students from high schools in our initiatives, with the aim of increasing their technical understanding and to provide them with the guidance they need to choose the right career.
