KMG International, through its member companies – Rompetrol Rafinare, Rominserv, Midia Marine Terminal, Rompetrol Quality Control, has launched the 2016 Internship Program, addressed to the 93 students selected to develop their professional skills and technical competencies, for a successful career in the oil industry. The program takes place from August 1 to September 30, in Petromidia Navodari and Vega Ploiesti refineries.

“Internship programs are part of the KMG International strategy of investing in human resources, not only within the company, but also with the community we operate in. Sustained on the two industrial platforms – Petromidia and Vega – the programs support the know-how transfer from our experts towards the young, in the first phases of their careers. As of 2002, more than 6,000 graduates of mid and high education have undertaken the Internship program, with the outstanding ones having begun their careers within KMG International”, stated Yedil Utekov, General Manager Rompetrol Rafinare, company that operates the Petromidia and Vega refineries.

Throughout the program, the 71 young ones that graduated universities, as well as the 22 high school graduates, will be trained by Group professionals in business segments such as oil processing and petro chemistry, laboratory, maintenance, planning, risk management, occupational safety and environmental protection.

The participants are coming from profile high schools and universities from Constanta and Ploiesti – “Lazar Edeleanu” High Schools, “Ovidius” University in Constanta, Petroleum and Gas Faculty Ploiesti – with which the Group has entered partnerships offering internships to high school students, students, faculty graduates and MAs.

The students participating in the 2016 internship program (73 of which within the Petromidia platform and 20 within the Vega refinery) were selected following a recruitment campaign, during which their technical and behavioral competencies, such as teamwork, initiative, proactivity and result orientation, were assessed. At the program’s end, the high school and faculty students can remain with the company as employees, depending on the available vacant jobs.

Annually, upon completing the programs, more than 50% of the interns have been hired within KMG International’s member companies, in different areas of activity.
