KMG International will support quality education in Constanţa County through Teach for Romania during the 2019-2020 academic year, supporting two teachers enrolled in the primary and secondary education system from the area, which are part of the NGO’s program.

The teachers supported through this partnership are role models and mentors for students from the partners schools in the region. By supporting them, children from vulnerable communities will have access and exposure to a innovative learning environment, they will be able to develop their interests and knowledge, while emphasis will be put on career orientation, as well as core growth elements: literacy (functional literacy, digital/numeracy), emotional intelligence (values, self-esteem), leadership. In this sense, different extracurricular activities will be organised during the year together with the teachers from the program, with KMG International’s support.

“We believe that quality education, especially in vulnerable areas, is the first step towards the sustainable development of communities. We are supporting the teachers that are part of Teach for Romania program in Constanta County because we believe that through this partnership we can address more efficiently the needs of children in the region, we can fight educational inequality and contribute to the harmonious development of future generations.” Alexey Golovin, Chief Officer, Legal and Corporate Affairs Department.

“For a young man in Romania, his education, the knowledge he acquires and the environment he grows in are defining for the opportunities he has access to further in his life. The purpose of our organization is to intervene in vulnerable communities, to reduce educational inequity and to bring a sustainable change. Children in distress can really benefit from quality education, learning experiences and reach their full potential. We are grateful that Rompetrol is now joining us in helping us achieve this goal. The opportunity to work together brings us confidence and hope that the Teach for Romania story continues thanks to our supporters.” Iulia Pielmuş, CEO Teach for Romania.

About Teach for Romania

Teach for Romania is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 that has brought a performance model in the public education system from Romania. To make its vision come true - quality education for all children in Romania, the organization trains people determined to become transformation agents for the Romanian educational system, from their position as teachers, for the benefit of children from vulnerable environments. Additionally, they have access to the largest global community in education and leadership – Teach for All. At the end of the two years, the program graduates are encouraged to continue the change they started in their school through initiatives that will have an impact on society, entrepreneurship, education, public policy and media.
