Palplast Sibiu, member of The Rompetrol Group, has significantly increased this year its portfolio of tubes and fittings, for projects supported by European financing, the total amount at this time amounting to circa 1.5 million USD.
“The company has initiated an extensive program of free technical advise for those interested to access European funds, especially in the areas where the company activates – supply of tubes and fittings for construction/modernization of water, gas, sewerage, irrigation and optical fiber infrastructures. The quality of the products and their wide range, geographical location of the plant in Sibiu and the promptness in deliveries of the mentioned products have sustained this result”, declares Dragos Oprea, the General Manager of Palplast Sibiu.
Palplast is the supplier for rehabilitation and modernization projects of the water supply network in Tulcea, Giurgiu, Dolj, Braşov, Vâlcea, Olt, Bihor and Sibiu and the surrounding towns. Moreover, Palpast products have been selected for project introducing the optical fiber connections in Bucharest and in Oradea.
“Attracting European funds for the development and expansion of the infrastructure will be felt in the next period both at the company level (number of employees, local taxes, etc.) and at the level of the population, who will benefit of life conditions at the level of the European Union. Another vital segment for supporting the economy is also the initiating of the program for the rebuilding/modernization of the agricultural irrigation infrastructure, scheduled for the period 2012 – 2014’”, adds Dragos Oprea.
At the present moment, Palplast is analyzing the possibility of expansions to countries such as Moldova, Bulgaria and Ukraine. For the internal market, the company has set an objective for the current year to consolidate its position on the polyethylene tubes and fittings market, developing contracts in Constanta, Timisoara, Cluj, Ramnicu Valcea, Craiova, Calarasi, Buzau, Arad, Alba, Hunedoara, Targu Jiu.
In 2011, the company estimates to have a turnover of about 4 millions USD.
Palplast Sibiu was founded un 1994 and is one of the major manufacturers of high density polyethylene (HDPE) tubes and fittings in Romania. Today the production is done on 3 lines and HDPE tubes and fittings manufactured here are used in the following areas: water systems and gas distribution networks, irrigation systems and special applications (e.g. protection cables).
