Rominserv, part of the Rompetrol Group, will provide project management consultancy services and training for the construction of an ample petrochemical complex in Kazakhstan, an investment totalizing over 6 billion USD.
Located in Atyrau, near KazMunayGas Refinery (installed processing capacity – 5.5 million tons) and Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan oilfields, the new investment targets the creation of an important petrochemical center in the Western part of Kazakhstan. The project will be developed in stages and at the end the production capacity will reach 800,000 tons of ethylene (raw material for manufacturing of polymers) and 500,000 tons of polypropylene.

The company will provide consultancy services for management of the on-shore projects during the construction, training for the units’ operators and will ensure the implementation of QHSE policies.
Rominserv specialists will offer consultancy within the framework of a 5 million USD contract during this year, in the first phase of the project for the construction of the unit of propane dehydrogenation and production of polypropylene, the general contractor of the project being the Chinese company Sinopec Engineering.
“It is the third Rominserv project in Kazakhstan and it represents a new challenge for us in order to find the best technical solutions and procedures in a market where the oil & gas industry is continuously growing”, Bekmurza adds. Rominserv had carried out 2 more projects in Kazakhstan in the period 2009-2011, consisting in the modernization of the Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation Unit and Delayed Coker Unit at the Atyrau Refinery.
