To support the education and training of young people as prominent future musicians, Rompetrol has donated musical instruments to two art colleges in collaboration with the Romanian Association of Luthiers (RAL). With this initiative, the Company reaffirms its commitment to education and culture.

Violins, violas, cellos, and double basses are among the instruments included in the donation for the Carmen Sylva College of Arts in Ploiesti and the Regina Maria National College of Arts in Constanta. These instruments are essential for fostering the growth of young musicians' abilities and providing them with the means to excel in the arts.

“Providing the two schools with musical instruments is a tangible way to encourage excellence in artistic education. Through this initiative, Rompetrol supports not only the development of talents but also the preservation and promotion of Romanian musical traditions”, Costinela Dragan, Sustainability & CSR Director of Rompetrol, said.

“We appreciate Rompetrol's support of this important project, which has shown that funding culture and education is an investment in the future. Many young people's dreams have come true thanks to the program, which has also given them the means to showcase their creativity and talent. Romania's educational and cultural infrastructure has grown considerably due to the partnership between the private and non-governmental sectors, fostering the growth of both current talents and future generations of artists. RAL expresses its gratitude to all those involved in this project (partners, teachers, craftsmen, and artists), which continues to be a model of best practices and a significant step towards a future where culture and education are national priorities”, Stoica Florin-Alinel, President of the Romanian Association of Luthiers, said.

Through this initiative, Rompetrol and RAL support education and culture as vital pillars of a sustainable community deeply rooted in its traditional values by supporting the preservation and promotion of Romanian cultural heritage.

As the main partner of the George Enescu International Festival and Competition for 15 years, as well as other associated cultural events, Rompetrol has a history of promoting culture by funding prestigious cultural events.

In 2024, with a reforestation initiative in Reghin, a symbolic place of the heritage of musical instrument craftsmanship, Rompetrol commemorated 15 years of collaboration in supporting the George Enescu International Festival and Competition. In collaboration with Artexim and the Romanian Association of Luthiers, over 6,000 maple and oak saplings were planted across 1.2 hectares.

Another example of cultural involvement is the support of related projects, such as the launch of the book entitled 'In Memory of Radu Lupu', a project coordinated by Monica Pop and Stefan Costache together with Artexim, photo exhibitions with testimonies of the festival and others. For its part, Rompetrol had the opportunity to bring the music of the Festival and Competition closer to its stakeholders through invitations to concerts, participation in musical events, and discussions with renowned musicians.

These initiatives, which combine sustainability and culture, highlight the benefits of responsible partnerships between the business sector and cultural institutions for a sustainable future and a community better connected to its cultural values.

The Romanian Association of Luthiers (RAL) brings together luthiers committed to upholding tradition and excellence in making and restoring stringed musical instruments. Established to uphold the excellence and genuineness of handcrafted instruments, the association actively fosters the professional growth of its members, advocates for the highest standards of luthiery, and collaborates with esteemed artists and organizations to preserve this valuable craft in Romania. To promote the instruments made by its members both domestically and internationally, RAL also hosts artistic and educational events.
