This year, the Rompetrol Group, by its member-companies - Rompetrol Rafinare, Rompetrol Petrochemicals, and Rominserv, will carry on the internship program for the graduates of secondary and higher education studies. The deadline for the application to this program by the young graduates in Constanta, Ploiesti, Iasi, Bucharest and Cluj is June 30.

“The Rompetrol Internship program provides graduates with the possibility to complete their academic education with practical experience, to get familiarised with the equipment and the technological flows of the most modern refinery in East Europe, as well as with the premises required for a successful carreer. Since 2001 and up to the present, 300 youths have been selected and made such practice within the Rompetrol Group, and 84 of the same are at present employees of Rompetrol”, Cosmin Turcu, the General Manager of Rompetrol Rafinare stated.

In its 9th consecutive year, the program will be carried out between August 02 – September 30 and will provide 55 opportunities for the graduates of academic studies and 29 for the graduates of secondary education. Thus, students from the series of graduates 2010, 2009 and 2008 from the Faculties of Oil Technology, Chemistry, Economy, Automation, Electricity, Energetics, Mechanics and Civil Engineering, as well as graduates from the highschools with specialisations in Industrial Chemestry, Electricity and Mechanics may submit their applications on the site www.rompetrol.ro, section Carreers/Internship by June 30, 2010.

The internship program supposes the assimilation of specific technical knowledge and skills, completed by an assessment, at the end of which some of the attendees will be selected for the “Traineeship” program.

The Traineeship program is the final stage in the process of selection of the most proficient attendees. The duration of the program is 6 months, between October 2010 – March 2011, interval in which students can practice their knowledge in several fields within the refinery/petrochemical facilities. Such experience is followed by a final assessment of their performance and the employment of the best of them with the organising companies.

In 2009, over 2400 students were matriculated; out of this number, the Rompetrol Group selected 20 from 5 university centers - Bucharest, Constanţa, Cluj, Iaşi and Ploieşti.
