Rompetrol has partnered with the National Red Cross Society in Romania as a mobility partner, actively supporting the logistics operations of the humanitarian organization by providing the necessary fuel to facilitate emergency intervention missions. This contribution enhances the efficiency and speed of relief operations carried out across the country.
"Rompetrol is a partner of civil society, contributing promptly and practically to resolving crises faced by community members, valuing and prioritizing the lives, safety, and well-being of people. Over the years, we have provided financial resources and fuel to support the missions of several organizations involved in health, environmental protection, education, and culture projects." - Bauyrzhan Nugumanov, Chief Retail Officer.
Through this partnership, the company covers the entire fuel requirement for 86 vehicles and over 200 pieces of intervention equipment (generators, water pumps, field kitchens, etc.) used by the organization in its humanitarian missions both domestically and abroad.
"Our vehicles, marked with the Red Cross emblem, are ambassadors of goodwill and peace, regardless of the roads they travel. Through them, we convey to those in need that help is nearby. Fuel is indispensable for rapid intervention vehicles and those ensuring transportation or supply in areas affected by natural disasters. Thanks to the partnership with Rompetrol, we estimate that we will be able to provide support and emergency intervention for hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries in Romania," said Adrian Halpert, General Director of the National Red Cross Society in Romania.
The Romanian Red Cross has been active in Romania continuously since 1876, adhering to the international standards of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, present in all counties of the country, carrying out various projects including disaster response, first aid, family reunification, social programs, health education, and international humanitarian law.
Over the years, Rompetrol has been a consistent partner of the Romanian Red Cross, providing fuel for logistics, contributing to support specialized search and rescue operations, and supplying humanitarian aid in Turkey after the earthquake disaster, as well as during the pandemic through the acquisition of a 12-bed mobile intensive care unit which was donated to the Department for Emergency Situations (IGSU) as part of the strategic reserve for civil protection. It was utilized during the pandemic to ensure rapid support where it was most needed.
Rompetrol supports national health projects through partnerships with hospitals and local public authorities for medical equipment procurement. Within the Multifunctional Health Center in Năvodari, ultrasound, gynecology, mammography, radiology, and microbiology cabinets have been equipped. Through a 15-year partnership with the Foundation for S.M.U.R.D., we have contributed to the development of the emergency intervention system, an essential pillar of the healthcare system, with diverse support ranging from fuel for medical helicopters to the acquisition of state-of-the-art technology equipment for SMURD helicopters, enabling a wide range of on-site investigations and advanced digital communication with medical centers across the country.
