Rompetrol continues to support sustainability and culture through a reforestation initiative in Reghin, Mureş County, a city renowned for its violin-making tradition. In partnership with Artexim and initiative “We plant good deeds in Romania”, the company has planted one hectare of forest with valuable species such as maple and oak, essential for the craft of building musical instruments. Rompetrol employees joined the initiative, actively contributing to the regeneration of a fundamental natural resource.
"Rompetrol consistently invests in projects that create a real impact in communities, combining environmental responsibility with cultural support. The tree planting in Reghin represents our long-term commitment to sustainability and a direct contribution to protecting essential resources," stated Costinela Drăgan, Sustainability & CSR Director at Rompetrol.
Cristina Uruc, Interim Manager at Artexim, emphasized the significance of this partnership: "The Reghin reforestation initiative brings together two complementary worlds – nature and music. The trees planted today will support future generations of luthiers and artists, ensuring the continuity of a unique cultural tradition."
Rompetrol continuously implements reforestation initiatives, contributing to ecosystem restoration and improving the quality of life in local communities. Just last year, the company planted over 15,000 saplings in the Parâng-Cindrel Mountains, Reghin, Mureş, and urban areas such as Piteşti and Ploieşti, aligning with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Beyond this reforestation effort, Rompetrol also supports artistic education through a partnership with the Romanian Association of Luthier Artists , providing musical instruments to music schools in Prahova and Constanţa.
This initiative reaffirms Rompetrol's vision of bridging the gap between the environment and culture, demonstrating that a strategic partnership between the business sector and cultural institutions can generate a real and lasting impact.
Artexim is a subordinated institution of the Ministry of Culture, responsible for organizing and promoting the George Enescu International Festival and Competition, one of the most prestigious musical events worldwide. In 2025, Rompetrol celebrates 16 years of partnership with the festival, strengthening its support for cultural excellence and initiatives that unite art with social responsibility.
