The Rompetrol Group finalizes the selection of 16 projects under the social responsibility program “Together for each and everyone” and their implementation will be realized up to the end of this year. The total budget allocated to support these projects is 225,000 USD. 

 

“In this year we support, as well, the sustainable projects with a significant impact in local communities and directly benefit for 35.000 people who face complex problems. The amount varies between RON 15,000 – for education projects, for environment and health projects - RON 45,000 and RON 100,000 for innovative initiatives” – says Mihaela Ungar, Director Marketing & Communications of The Rompetrol Group. In the fifth edition of “Together for each and everyone” were signed in (by local authorities, NGO’s, hospitals, schools) and evaluated 218 projects, but 11 health and 5 environment projects were selected for implementation.

 

3 health projects  will obtain grants in the value of RON 100,000 – Hospital for Infectious Diseases Victor Babes – Bucharest, for establishing the first center for integral medical and psychological services for patients with HIV/SIDA in Romania, Pneumophtisiology Hospital in Constanta for arranging the first respiratory rehabilitation center in Southeastern Romania and the Hospice Home of Hope for the establishment and endowment of a multi-sensory stimulation center for patients with life-threatening illnesses.

 

Judgment of projects signed in during the period April 22 – June 16, 2013 was exercised by a joint team composed of representatives of the company and non-profit sector (within the interval of June 17 – June 27); it was conducted in two phases and involved the assessment of each project based on a set of criteria and site visit - 37 applications ranked by Jury score and votes obtained on the website and social network Facebook.

 

The proposed activities for health projects to be implemented this year are: rehabilitation and equipping units providing medical and auxiliary public health activities in rural and urban areas and information activities (e.g.: Help them to get out from the world of silence in Tirgu Neamt, for parents and children with autism) and for environment projects: preserving and maintaining/improving the environmental conditions available at the local level through various activities. The winning projects are from the counties Brasov, Calarasi, Ialomita, Harghita, Hunedoara, Suceava, Neamt and the municipality Bucharest.

 

The national program “Together for each and everyone” was launched in 2009, as a part of the corporate social responsibility platform „Energy comes from the heart” through which health and environment projects are implemented annually, both directions being supported by The Rompetrol Group. In the period 2009 – 2012 were signed in over 1200 projects and the company has allotted USD 1,000,000 for implementing 71 community initiatives in all regions of the country to directly benefit of 250,000 people.

 

In 2013  the company continues its traditional partnerships with the civil society as well; including the engagement to SMURD Foundation, through which Rompetrol Rafinare provides a part of Jet A1 fuel needed to operate SMURD helicopters, support the Civil Society Gala 2013 (where Rompetrol was the major partner and sponsor for 9 editions), 10-years collaboration with OvidiuRo Association (which pleads for school programs and materials, uniforms, law enforcement in education and child rights etc.).
