Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the «KMG International» Group - 100% of shares of which belong to JSC “NC “KazMunayGas” - was elected Honorary Consul of Georgia in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Zhanat Tussupbekov was awarded this important diplomatic mission during the meeting of the Consular Commission, which appreciated his achievements in establishing links between the business circles of the two countries, promotion of cultural and tourism exchanges.
The consular district, in which Zhanat Tussupbekov represents the interests of a friendly country, includes the Karaganda region. In accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 24 April 1963, the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as international treaties and agreements to which our Republic is a party, the Honorary Consul represents the interests of Georgia, promotes business, trade, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries which aims at further strengthening of traditional relations and friendship between Kazakhstan and Georgia.
In his turn, Zhanat Tussupbekov thanked the Georgian leadership for vesting their confidence in him to represent the country, and expressed readiness to exercise best efforts to strengthen the friendly union of the two states and peoples.
Mr. Zhanat Tussupbekov has extensive professional experience in successful management of companies, the last 11 years of which were in the oil and gas industry. Since May 2012 he holds the position of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the "KMG International N.V." Group, and is also a member of the Board of Directors. Under his management, in recent years, the companies of the Group showed unprecedented financial and operating results, becoming one of the most successful oil companies in Romania and one of the most important players in the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions.
Moreover, Zhanat Tussupbekov manages one of the most representative sports in the Republic of Kazakhstan, being the president of the Weightlifting Federation of Kazakhstan. For achieving excellent results and organization of several international events both locally and abroad, in May 2017 he was elected as Vice President of International Weightlifting Federation.
